books in '08 (ongoing)

1. jon katz, a good dog.

2. mark hoty, dog years: a memoir.

3. ken foster, the dogs who found me: what i’ve learned from pets who were left behind.

4. josh grogan, marley and me.

i went through this whole dog books phase, all of those are really good. although if you are interested in the katz read one of his others first, i feel like i spoiled myself and i could have had good fun reading all the others first.

5. elizabeth mccracken, the giant’s house : a romance

i like that it’s subtitled a romance, it is a romance in that it’s about love. but not some bodic ripping chick-lit romance. a sad quiet kind of love.

6. ann patchett, what now?

7. jeffrey stepakoff, the billion-dollar kiss: the kiss that saved dawson’s creek and other adventures in tv writing

8. stephenie meyer, twilight

9. daniel gilbert, stumbling on happiness.

10. nicole krauss, the history of love.

11. stephenie meyer, new moon

12. marisha pessl, special topics in calamity physics

a really interesting book - you end up with more questions than answers though, if that’s your kind of thing.

13. stephenie meyer, the host

proves that she can write a book without edward cullen and i can still be interested.

14. sam gosling, snoop: what your stuff says about you

15. diane setterfield, the thirteenth tale

16. sara gruen, water for elephants

17. orson scott card, ender’s game

18. nora ephron, i feel bad about my neck

19. bruce goldstein, puppy chow is better than prozac

20. stephenie meyer, eclipse

21. sloane crosley, i was told there’d be cake
